Using TEncoder Video Converter Portable
While there is nothing particularly wrong with installing programs, I have a bias towards portable ones because they do not make any changes to the system registry. Installing and uninstalling programs tend to corrupt the registry and lead to different complications. This means TEncoder Video Converter Portable is in my preferred list.
Another thing that impressed me about the free audio converter is its range of compatibility. It accepted all video and audio formats I tested, including MP3, WAV, OGG, FLAC, FLV, AVI, MP4, VOB, MKV and MOV.
I could add either individual files or entire directories to the conversion queue. The free video converter neatly displayed all loaded files on its main interface, and it automatically detected their embedded subtitles and audio tracks. I had the freedom to change the order of files in the queue or remove others if I changed my mind.
TEncoder Video Converter Portable allowed me to perform basic editing functions. For example, I used the Range Editor to trim parts of video that I did not want to include in my converted files. In addition, the converter enabled me to synchronize pictures and sound by setting audio delay. You can also set subtitle delay.
If you know what you are doing, then you can customize the encoding parameters by adjusting things like the number of channels, output size, bitrates and FPS rate. You can as well improve the quality of your videos using cropping and deinterlacing features.
Users who are not sure of the right settings can still create suitable outputs using predefined profiles meant for different devices, such as DVD players, iPods and cell phones.
